family pictures 2009

My friend Jill recently started her own photography business. She took some pictures of our family a couple weeks ago and I think they turned out really cute. I HATE having my picture taken, but I know that I will be happy that I have these memories. Jill is so fun and came to our house to do the pictures which was wonderful. It was a chilly day so when we got cold or the girls got grumpy we could just go inside. If you are looking for a photographer and you live in Utah, Jill is great. Click on her name at the top for her website. Thanks again Jill!!!
P.S Have you ever tried Picnik?
AMAZING
I love it. I'm obsessed and have been playing around with our pictures for hours.
so so fun.

On Our Way to Disneyland

Thankfully Kaylee only knew for a week that we were going to Disneyland, because that's all she talked about. I have developed a serious fear of flying over the past year, so I was dreading the actual trip to California. It was a little bumpy and at one point I made my Mom come sit by me and hold my hand. Kaylee kept reaching over to hold my other hand and telling me everything is going to be ok. Pretty sad that my 5 year old was comforting her Mommy, but cute at the same time.

at the airport

listening to Grandma's Ipod

she loves music

cool as a cucumber...I was freaking out!

our hotel was across the street from Disneyland and
we got to the hotel just in time for....

Disneyland Day 1 coming up next......

Disneyland Day 1

Morning we got up bright and early since we wanted to spend as much time at Disneyland as we could. Since it was Kaylee's birthday she got in free as did the rest of us.
We were so lucky since this made the trip tons cheaper....always a good thing.

Kaylee was a little grumpy, apparently it was her birthday and she'll cry if she wants too.
We had to wait awhile to get into the park and we were all a little hungry which doesn't help things in this family. But after some brunch and a little talking to, things were much better.
Weekends at Disneyland are CRAZY!!!! So many people. Thankfully the lines really weren't too bad. We were there for about 8 hours total that day. We were lucky that Dad was about to join us that day too since it was a weekend. He works so hard and it was nice to be able to spend some time with him.

I hadn't been to Disneyland in over 11 years so I was really excited to go especially with Kaylee for her first time. It really is a magically place. Although the last time I went everything seemed so much bigger. I couldn't believe how small the Castle was. I guess that's the fun of being a kid there.

patiently waiting at the hotel

a stop at Downtown Disney to get the tickets

we're here!!!!

with her special birthday button
all day everyone would stop her and say "Happy Birthday Kaylee!"
she thought that was pretty cool!

we happened to meet Goofy in his Halloween costume
just has we walked through the gates

the start of the grumpy birthday girl, but dang it
we were getting some pictures anyway

Disneyland was all decorated for Halloween
everyone I've talked to said this is the best time to go, I have to agree!!!

waiting in line for her first ride

After this we were exhausted, went back to the hotel and crashed.
Day 2 coming up........

Day 2 and Our Adventures Getting Home

Day 2 was much more relaxed, less people, the lines were shorter, but a lot hotter too....like 94 degrees! But after a Summer in Florida, 94 degrees without humidity is nothing.
We decided to head over to Frontier Land and get to the rides we missed the day before first. We did Pirates of the Caribbean (again) and then the Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain twice (Kaylee's favorite ride) and a few other smaller rides in that area. We ended up spending most of the day there.

riding the monorail into the park
we were sooooo lucky that we got in free both days
since a good friend of the family works at Downtown Disney!!!

Mom and KK on the Jungle Cruise

on the cruise

meeting Aladdin and Jasmine

doing her pirate impression before we went on the ride again

it's all about Jack Sparrow now since the movies have come out

the Haunted Mansion, changed the theme
to the Nightmare Before Christmas

waiting in the long line for Splash Mountain,
the second time we did the fast pass

just hanging around, my little monkey

met a friend on the Pooh Bear ride

and then met Pooh Bear

and Tigger too!

the second time we went on Splash Mountain I tricked Kaylee into
sitting where I sat the last time (and got seriously soaked)
this is when she figured out what I did.
I could not get wet again, my pants were still sticking to
me at this point, not a good look!

our picture, you can't even see Kaylee sitting beside me

posing in front of the Castle

getting a little tired and silly by this point in the day

after almost 2 hours in line we got to meet a few princesses
(yes, 2 hours but totally worth it)
meeting Belle

and Jasmine again

and a sort of grumpy Ariel
maybe since she wasn't wearing her fins?

the have a little beauty salon near the princess area where you can......

get your face painted

we did the Buzz Lightyear ride and then headed to Red Robin for dinner
Kaylee was thrilled that they sang to her and gave her come ice cream

wanting to be just like Papa

We tried to come home on Tuesday, but due to a dust storm in Phoenix
(where we were flying home through)
we ended up spending almost 7 hours in the airport
including 2 on the airplane before the offered people the chance to get off.
I jumped at that, with my fear of flying and all, I wanted off.
So after a $40 cab ride back to the hotel, we tried again the next day and finally made it home!

Last night we drove down to our friend's house and went to their trunk-or-treat.
Kaylee was really into getting candy as fast as she could so her and her little friend Kennedy ran from car to car. It was pretty funny. Presley was just trying to stay upright in her costume while holding her bag of candy in her hand. She looked so cute!!!!

After the trunk-or-treat we came back up and went to a few of the house's in our neighborhood with Kelsey and Jeremy. When we first got to our friends' house they
weren't there yet so we took advantage of their cute Halloween decorations in their yard and got some pictures of the girls'.

cute little kitty cat

she spotted the enemy...didn't realize we were friends with them!

I kept trying to get a picture of Pres,

so she popped up in most of them

One of These Days.....

I'll get around to posting our Disneyland pictures......
Is the anticipation killing you?
Actually I was waiting for my Mom to get home with the camera.
Until then, enjoy Kaylee's drawing that she made on the
way home from our trip.
Doesn't she have great penmanship?!
And I have super cute Halloween pictures.

P.S That's Mickey Mouse in case you couldn't tell.

She is Beau's Child

Presley just walked up to me and pointed her finger to her mouth, sign language for eat. So I ask her "You want something to eat?" She says yes. Then I ask her what do you want?

"um, ice cream!"

Clear as can be. Most of her talking is still only understood by family members or mostly I can just read her mind and know what she wants before she asks for it. This I'm sure is holding her back on the talking a bit which is why I was asking her what she wanted. And I guess she told me! Just like her Daddy. I'm sure if you asked Beau what he wanted to eat right now he'd say ice cream too!

Halloween Parade

Today Kaylee's school had a Halloween Parade and Party. It was really cute. The kids were all dressed up and they did a little walk around the neighborhood. Then we went back to the school and they kids sang a song and we had some treats.

Kaylee was a cute little kitty this year.
